About
I’ve learned that one of the challenges in balancing all of the things that I do in life is maintaining healthy eating habits. It’s so easy to put so many things and people before me – I’m generally last on the to-do list. I love my life and the things that I do because I come so far. As a single-mother, lawyer, student and entrepreneur with an active Christian lifestyle things can get very busy. I’m sure some of you can relate or maybe you’re too busy to even read a blog. LOL!
I’ve been on a personal journey of exploring ways that I can take care of me. I’ve seen many people in my family, neighborhood, comnunity, church, etc plagued with issues such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholestoral, arthritis, strokes, cancer and so much more. I recognize that many of these issues and other issues that we face today can be eliminated by changing our eating habits.
I’ve been exploring with vegan and raw vegan meals. However, this soul food loving sistah have some doubts about this transition. So, I figured why do this alone – we’ve become a generation of bloggers so I’m going to share my vegan detox journey (and emerging lifestyle) with you!!! Please note that I am not big on labels – I believe that we should self-reflect and follow our own unique and individual paths. For some people maybe you will reconsider some of the items you consumer even if you decide against being a vegan or maybe its not your path to be a raw foodist. Whatever your past is let’s be open and let’s learn to listed to our bodies.
With that being stated, I hope that you join me in this journey. If you have been on this journey I hope that you will share your wisdom. For me this blog is part of my diligent detox journaling process
Let’s bring restoration to our lives one bite at a time!!

Hi
I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award because I love what you do! http://pureandsimplebakes.com/
xx
Wow, thank you so much for the nomination! This is such a kind gesture & so exicted you love what I do, I am encouraged to continue my journey.
Might I add… when I first told my (now ex) brfoyiend that I was transitioning to vegetarian, he too took it as a personal attack. I Believe his words to me were, “it’s as if my best friend has died”. It’s funny now but what a terrible way to support someone!
Oops, I missed that you had already been nominated. Oh well, just shows that we’re loving your blog
I’ve really enjoyed reading about your journey and you look great!

Thanks so much Star!! I really appreciate the support
Luckily, with this “generation of bloggers,” you know you have support from people all over the planet, who are willing to cheer you on through your (hopefully lifelong) journey! I think it’s important to remember that even if you can’t be vegan all the time, you’re still doing more than most people so never beat yourself up if you hit a roadblock.
And btw, good luck on your marathon!
Thank you very much for those words of wisdom. I think my biggest challenge is allowing myself the time to pace my changes so that it is a lifestyle. I appreciate your comments & well wishes.
